JAI SHRI RAM

---

DR. HEDGEWAR : AN ARCHITECT OF ORGANISATION DEDICATED TO SOCIETY
Sunil Ambekar

With the passage of time, the relevance of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in public life is becoming more and more evident. The Swayamsevaks of the RSS are contributing positively in bringing development changes in each and every sphere of public life, which is being observed by a large section of the society. Thus, it is obvious that now curiosity has arisen to know who was founder of this organisation and what his ideas were.

Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar was a patriot since childhood. The nationalist ideas regarding independence of Lokmanya Tilak were extremely popular in Nagpur during those days, which influenced Doctorji too. He used to enthusiastically lead anti-british rule activities like giving speeches against colonial rule on the day of Vijayadashmi and leading the “Vande Mataram” movement in his school. It was the result of his brave personality and patriotism which resulted in the formation of such dynamic organisation like RSS.
He was a foresighted person. That is why even after completing nearly 100 years formation, RSS as an organisation is still relevant in the present scenario and acts as a positive force. The working of the RSS and its cadres reflect the qualities and pious ideas were part of his personality.
As Doctorji himself was a born-patriot, RSS, too, as an organisation is naturally patriotic organisation. This trait is an integral part of this activity of each and every Swayamsevak. “Nation First” is the motto which forms the base for the working of the organisation as well as every decision made by the RSS.
For Doctorji, nation’s independence, sovereignty and culture were not the matter of political bargaining. Dr. Hedgewar was active in the freedom struggle in Nagpur and received hero’s welcome when was released from the prison. He believed in encouraging people to do good work by himself taking the back seat. Similarly, RSS too believes in focusing on doing constructive work which strengthens the society, instead of chasing publicity.
Doctorji was opposed to the caste-based discrimination prevalent during his days. His ideas on religion, culture and society were based on Hinduism’s principle that one same God resides in each and every human being. Based on this notion, RSS since its way of inception is open to each and every section of the society; even in the programmes and camps as well as in the organizational structure of RSS, the social caste or economic class of its cadre is never mentioned. During Doctorji’s lifetime, Mahatma Gandhi and Dr BR Ambedkar witnessed the social equality and cohesion in the shakha of RSS; on similar lines today RSS is working actively to unite the different sections of the society. Doctorji was highly influenced by Chhatrapti Shivaji Maharaj, just like the different sections of the society were united under Shivaji Maharaja’s army as a united Hindu society. Doctorji wanted to unite the entire Hindu unity in the umbrella of RSS on similar lines. Even today, the Sangh, instead of trying to develop the organisation of Swayamsevaks, is dedicated in uniting entire society.
Since his school days, Doctorji used to be surrounded by friends and he used to inculcate patriotic values in his friends as well. To cooperate with others and to engage in social work was part of his nature. The first programme of RSS was to serve the people in Sri Rama Navami Utsav held in Ramtek near Nagpur. Even today, Swayamsevaks in a friendly manner keep connecting with new people and keep helping them. During the ongoing Covid19 pandemic, the society directly witnessed how the different organisation of the Sangh actively participated in relief work.
In big cities where the socialisation of people has decreased, the friendly socializing attitude of RSS as an organisation has proved to be a blessing. In such scenario, even the presence of just one Swayamsevak in the building or apartment brings vibrancy to the social life of that particular locality. Where the rural areas were getting neglected, the Swayamsevaks connected different people to those villages and ensured the development of that particular rural area by building a bridge of mutual understanding from both the sides.
Doctorji used to say that patriotism is not our opinion but our vow. He once said how the heart pumps blood and keeps the body alive by remaining invisible from outside; a patriot is expected to work in the similar way. He believed that a social worker should churn the curd and serve the butter to the society whereas he should be content with the buttermilk left, only then one can ignite the quality of sacrifice in the society. Doctorji’s ideas were not limited to this, he worked tirelessly by imbibing the qualities of hard work, sacrifice and service to awaken the masses of the nation. RSS today is similarly marching ahead of his footprints. (The writer is the Akhil Bharatiya Prachar Pramukh of RSS) - Oraniser, April 18, 2021 -GoTop

AKHIL BHARATIYA PRATINIDHI SABHA 2021 RESOLUTIONS -  RESOLUTION 1

Construction of Mandir at Shri Rama Janmbhoomi Manifestation of the innate strength of Bharat : The unanimous verdict on Shri Ram Janmbhoomi by the honorable Supreme Court followed by the formation of a public trust “Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra” for the construction of the Shri Ram mandir, the sacred ritual for commencing the grand mandir construction, and the Nidhi Samarpan campaign have become a golden page in the history of Bharat that shall also inspire generations to come.
The ABPS is of the considered opinion that through the aforesaid program the intrinsic strength of Bharat has been envigorated and these programs became the unique symbol of spiritual awakening, national integration, social harmony, goodwill and dedication.

On Bhadrapad Krishna Dwiteeya, yugabda 5122 (5th Aug 2020) entire world elatedly stood witness to the hallowed program of the beginning of temple construction in the esteemed presence of the Honorable Prime Minister of Bharat, Pujaniya Sarasanghachalak of RSS, trustees of Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra and venerable Saints, Seers and Dharmacharyas of all sects. The ritual was consecrated with sacred soil from the all pilgrim centers and water from all the holy rivers of Bharat. Keeping in view of all the regulations during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, the gathering was kept limited in number but its impact was unlimited. Physical presence was finite but the entire Hindu society joined the program through virtual media. All sections of society and political parties welcomed this event unanimously.
Starting with the contribution from the first citizen Honorable President of Bharat, and from Bhagwan Valmikimandir in Dehli on the auspicious day of makarasankranti, the 44-day-long “Nidhi Samparn Abhiyan” has indeed been the biggest outreach campaign in the history of world. Over 12 crores of Rambhakt families from about 5.5 lakh cities and villages have contributed to the construction of the grand mandir. All the sections and sects of the society overwhelmingly participated in this campaign. People from rural, urban to forest and hilly areas, from rich to ordinary people contributed wholeheartedly to make this campaign a success. The ABPS congratulates all Rambhakts for this unparalleled enthusiasm and support.
This campaign has proved once again that the entire country is always connected emotively with Shri Ram. The ABPS appeals to all Ram bhakts including social and religious institutions, educationists and intellectuals of the country to make meaningful efforts so that Shri Ram’s ideals permeate through the society. Along with the construction of the grand mandir at the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi in Ayodhya, the social and national life inspired by the values of Shri Ram will be established through collective resolve and efforts. This willpave the way for building a strong and glorious Bharat which in turn will ensure the wellbeing of the whole world.  -GoTop

AKHIL BHARATIYA PRATINIDHI SABHA 2021 RESOLUTIONS -  RESOLUTION 2

Bharat stands as ‘One’ against Covid -19 Pandemic: The ABPS of RSS wishes to recognize and put on record the exemplary, collective and comprehensive response of Bharatiya society to the global pandemic Covid-19 and heartily appreciates the role played by every section of the society in containing the ill effects of the pandemic.
As the news of the pandemic and its devastating nature started trickling in, the government and administrative machinery both at center and in the states swung into action. To educate the masses about the nature of the disease and necessary precautions, a massive countrywide exercise of public dissemination was undertaken using various creative means supported by positive approach of media with the effect that the entire country responded collectively to all the stipulated regulations that averted the worst case scenario predicted in the beginning. The medical workers including Doctors, nurses, paramedics, and sanitation workers rose to the occasion in Corona testing and treating the patients, even facing threat to their life. All other sections of the society like security forces, government functionaries, essential services, financial institutions and many others in organized and unorganized sectors kept the wheels of daily life rolling almost uninterrupted throughout the country in this trying period. All these efforts and the coordinated exercises from various governmental departments like ‘Shramik trains’, ‘Vande Bharat Mission’ and current vaccination drive are praiseworthy.

Many of our Corona warriors, who rendered selfless service, have laid their lives fighting the pandemic. The ABPS, with devout thankfulness, recollects their courage and sacrifice and expresses immense gratitude. So far, tens of thousands of people have succumbed to the virus. We offer tributes to the departed souls and express heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families.
Bharatiya society as a whole has written a new saga of service, compassion and societal oneness by extending assistance viz.rations, cooked food, medical help, transportation, monetary assistance etc to millions of those who suffered due to the sudden unexpected turn of events. Various religious, social, voluntary organizations and the common citizenshave rushed to the doorsteps of the needy and gave necessary support to them. The ABPS wishes to express high appreciation to all such organizations and individuals for their selfless and benevolent acts during this period.
In the hard times of Covid breakout and subsequent lockdown, a large section of the society like migrant workers had to cope up with a lot of hardships and challenges. However our society confronted all the odds and looming uncertainty with their commendable resilience and remarkable endurance.
The situation in the rural areas remained under control despite the dire projections made due to the lack of healthcare facilities and the migrations from cities. In fact, the care and management of the inbound people from cities by the local populace is worthy of admiration.
The agriculture produce was more than usual during this time and the industrial and overall economic scene is also showing encouraging signs. We could also turn this distress into an opportunity with industrial innovations in manufacturing ventilators, PPE kits, developing techniques for Corona testing and quick affordable indigenous Covid vaccine. This has revealed the innate resilience and ingenuity of the society in the face of hardships.
From start of this worldwide crisis, Bharat lived to the axiom of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ and extended its helping hand to various countries by distributing Hydroxychloroquine and other essential items, andlater on vaccine to large number of countries by our “Vaccine-Maitri” campaign. Bharat’s timely acts of international cooperation were appreciated by many leaders and countries of the world.
The pandemic also made us realize the power and potential of our holistic worldview, age old traditions and decentralized rural economic system. Many of our day to day habits and customs based on traditional value system, the quality time spent with family, healthy life style based on restrained consumption, practising of traditional food habits and medicine for boosting immunity and prevention of the disease, positive effect of Yoga and meditation proved beneficial during this period. Bharat’s integrated approach and its use in daily life has been endorsed by many experts world over.
The ABPS is confident that the Bharatiya society will overcome the ill effects of this pandemic, with continued grit and determination and thereby regain normal living in near future. We all have to keep in mind that the society has not yet been come out of the Corona crisis. Against this backdrop, the people must strictly adhere to the necessary Covid protocol and guidelines to contain the pandemic. The ABPS calls upon society that the lessons learnt during the times of this pandemic need to be imbibed in our individual and societal life by adapting to a healthy family system, sustainable consumption, environment protection and also by inculcatingspirit of self-reliance and ‘Swadeshi’ in our lives. -GoTop
