2. PROGRAMS OF SARSANGHCHALAK DR. MOHAN BHAGWAT: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Sarsanghchalak Dr Mohan Bhagwat attended an event of Yog Mani Vandniya Late Dr Urmila Tai Jamdar Smriti Prasanga under the aegis of Yog Mani Trust Jabalpur on November 10. Speaking on the topic of ‘Relevance of Hindutva for World Welfare in the Present Times’, he said that today the whole world is looking towards Bharat with hope for spiritual peace.

He said that the whole world got divided into two ideologies, atheist and theist and later on it also became a subject of conflict.  In Bharatiya philosophy of life, a co-relation of both is necessary to maintain balance in material and spiritual life. This has been accepted in Hindu Dharma and hence it has no extremists and fanatics. The concept of Dharma is truth, compassion, purity and penance, and living together with diversity is Hindu Dharma.
Speaking during the centenary celebrations of Pandit Ramkinkar Upadhyay in Chitrakoot on November 6, Dr. Bhagwat attributed Bharat’s strength to the foundation laid by ancient sages and seers and described it as a “resilient, unifying nation” dedicated to overcoming challenges and standing firm against injustice. He added that Dharma is achieved through our actions and as a nation rooted in Dharma, we stand on the side of righteousness. He said that despite the nation’s diversity, Bharat is unified in its commitment to righteousness.

14. CHINESE SCHOLARS HIGHLIGHT RAMAYANA’S FOOTPRINTS IN CHINA BURIED IN BUDDHIST TEXTS: At a symposium on “Ramayana- A Timeless Guide” organised by the Bharatiya Embassy on November 2, a host of Chinese scholars associated with longstanding research on religious influences, made candid presentations tracing the historical routes through which Ramayana reached China and its influence on Chinese art and literature.

Dr Jiang Jingkui, Professor and Dean of the Institute for International and Area Studies of Tsinghua University said that the earliest content related to Ramayana in China was introduced into the Han cultural sphere primarily through Buddhist scriptures. “A famous example is that Hanuman was transformed into a Monkey King who obeyed Buddhist teachings, blending into classic Buddhist moral narratives,” Jiang said. In his presentation, Pro Liu Jian of the National Institute of International Strategies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, said “Chinese scholars generally agree that the image of Sun Wukong comes from that of Hanuman.”. China has had footprints of the stories of Ramayana cloaked in Buddhist scriptures for centuries, scholars have said, bringing to the fore perhaps for the first time, the influence of Hinduism in the country’s checkered history. -GoTop

 JAI SHRI RAM
---
MAHILA SAMANVAY: THE SANGH PARIVAR ROLE MODEL OF WOMEN EMPOWERMENT
DR V SUJATHA

In Bharat since ancient times women have been an integral part of the nation’s history and culture. That women had continued to play a decisive role in shaping the country’s socio-political narratives was shown by their great contribution towards the country’s freedom struggle against the British Empire. That women had enjoyed equal rights with men was evidenced by their involvement in framing the constitution as well, fifteen members of the constituent Assembly were women. When we achieved freedom in 1947, in the advanced countries like Britain that had built up empires by exploiting the rich resources of nations like India, their women had no right to vote. It prompted the feminist movement in Europe during the early 20th century, the initial stage of which had to focus on women’s suffrage along with other legal rights. Whereas in India’s splendid culture women have always been enjoying not only equal rights with men but an added privilege granted to motherhood also, as has been pointed out by famous thinkers like will Durant, Arthur L. Basham etc. Even in the spiritual tradition that forms the cornerstone of Indian culture, right from the ancient period we had eminent women personalities like Gargi, Maitreyi, Ahalya, Anasuya, Sabari, Amba, Gandhari and so on.
But the Neo-liberals of today do not understand that in Bharat men and women have always been considered as two sides of the same coin and that it is based on the Ekātma theory that recognizes the truth of one fundamental principle not only in all living beings but in the whole of creation as well. Since this holistic vision forms the hallmark of Hinduism, it is more spiritual than religious and so referred to as Sanatana Dharma, i.e. values of life based on one ultimate eternal truth. This eminent tradition has continued throughout the ages in spite of frequent foreign invasions, as an ever-burning lamp. It started blazing now with the great measures undertaken in favour of women by the Narendra Modi Government.

Mahila Samanvay Vedi
It is a national forum of the Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh, the most prominent national volunteer organization that comprises Karma – yogis who do self-less service in the interest of our nation’s prosperity and well-being. The RSS is a collection of around 40 organisations together known as the Sangh Parivar doing service in various fields such as social, political, economic and religious. Of the Parivar Organisations some are comprised exclusively of women, for instance Rashtra Sevika Samiti, Siksha Bharati, Durga Vahini and so on.
Samanvay Vedi is a forum meant to discuss and exchange the ideas and the nature of activities undertaken by the various organizations of the Parivar. It helps to integrate the varied functions of the Parivar in different domains under the common banner of national welfare. Mahila Samanvay Vedi reflects the attitude of the Indian society that women share with men equal rights and responsibilities in shaping the future of the nation.
The Vedi has been constituted especially to conduct programmes that promote the cause of equal opportunities for women and also protection of women against atrocities. The activities of the Mahila Samanvay clearly depict the significance that the Sangh Parivar grants to the progression of women.
The National Mahila Samanvay has been conducting seminars in various states to bring home the various aspects of women upliftment. Last year as its special programme the Mahila Samanvay put in a massive exertion to back up the stupendous efforts of the Modi Government towards the upliftment of women. The initiatives taken include
1. Conducting of seminars at the national, state and district levels to identify the various difficulties that dissuade women from undertaking social activities;
2. Motivate women to take up challenging opportunities and become leaders in profession and business;
3. Provide opportunity for the women folk of villages also along with that of the metropolitan cities to assume leading roles in public activities in their own respective communities and organizations;
4. Make women aware of their equal rights and duties as citizens;
5. Alert women against their being exploited;
6. Address means of providing secure environment for women to progress.
In addition the Samanvay conveys to women the importance of their financial freedom. Economic independence provides them with opportunities to make free choices about their lives. It also makes them participate in enhancing the national economy as well as the domestic. Today India has become the fastest growing economy of the world. The country can reach the pinnacle of economic growth if its women constituting nearly half of the population, also reaches out to help national advancement.
Mahila Samanvay in Kerala
Within the last one year the National Mahila Samanvay conducted more than 500 mass conferences in various parts of the country each attracting thousands of women. The activity of the Mahila Samanvay in Kerala deserves special mention in that it was widely recognized and acclaimed by the public. It was quite unprecedented in the history of Kerala to platform such huge gatherings for the cause of women empowerment. Covering all the districts 14 mega conventions were held each one assembling thousands of women participants. The meetings were notable in that they were all organised, chaired and participated exclusively by women including Central Ministers and other national dignitaries as chief guests. Other leading women in various professions and business enterprises at the state-district- taluk-village levels also took part in these grand symposiums.
In Kerala during the modern period several Hindu Acharyas and writers had taken up the cause of women liberation. But today’s vote bank politics is of the nature of foiling the efforts of those great reformers. Of course disguised as social workers some activists bring women to public forums raising slogans of gender equally, equal opportunity, freedom etc. but with devious intentions. The true nature of their under hand tactics has come to light recently in a programme run by a Marxist-Jihadi alliance. It was a public function of recitation of poetry conducted in memory of Nabi. A large number of poets including office-bearers of Kerala Sahitya Academy participated in it, but female poets were not allowed to take part, though there are innumerable poetesses in Kerala. There arose accusation in certain quarters that women were not permitted since the function was held in connection with the religion of Islam. The contradiction here is two-fold. How could the Islamists accommodate recitation of poems since even the display of innate human creativity is considered illegitimate (harām) by the fundamentalists who excluded women from the programme? The other contradiction is that the Marxists who joined hands with the Jihadis washed their hands of their own dogma of dialectical materialism that ‘religion is the opium of the people’. On one side we come across dogmatists pulling the wheel of women’s progress backwards by conducting such ridiculous programmes with the blind belief that they are marching forward and call themselves ‘neo-liberals’. On the other side we see forums like Mahila Samanvay putting in great effort to move the machinery of progress in favour of women.
In fact the women liberation movement initiated by the early reformists in Kerala is now being continued by the activities of the Mahila Samanvay.
A special programme of the Mahila Samanvay conducted last year on November 5th as a prelude to the grand convention in Thiruvananthapuram deserves mention in this context. It was a unique performance where 21 poetesses recited their own poems. The subject of all the poems was woman oriented-the various trials, disadvantages and stumbling blocks women face at home and work place that impede their progress. As a continuation of the programme, a book was published, i.e. a collection of poems on the subject “Pañca Kanya Smŗti” released by the well-known writer Prof. George Onakkur and received by Yedu VijayaKrishnan the film director and writer. Earlier on the 1st of November 2023 another notable event arranged by the Mahila Samanvay was “Kalari ppayattu”, a traditional martial art form of Kerala, where more than 30 girls displayed their martial skills.
Personal freedom for everybody to grow is the primary indication of any culturally advanced society and forms the ideal of a nation. Thus gender equality and sufficient opportunities for the fair sex to grow determines the culture of a country and its economy too. To quote the RSS Sarsanghchalak, Dr Mohan Bhagawat: “To progress, allow women equal rights and freedom to work. If women are given freedom they can help everyone grow”.
This expression contains respect and esteem regarding the women of Bharat, for they can shoulder responsibilities both inside and outside their homes.
Individual freedom as we know is not unfettered or absolute as some neo-liberals imagine. When the neoliberals demand absolute individual freedom, their aim is not progressive but misleading. They are actually asking for unrestricted sensory pleasures. Sensory craving is not freedom but enslavement. Since we have to respect every one’s freedom to grow, it necessitates certain standards of conduct. These standards are prescribed not merely by the law of the land but by the basic values of life or dharma. While the law points out the wrong-doings and the punishments thereof, dharma equips as with the wisdom that reveals the right path. Bharat is the mother land of a great variety of cultural communities speaking different languages and following different religions. Yet they stand united because the humanitarian import of the culture of this land based on dharma cannot be denied by anyone. Thus in Bharat along with the Law, Dharma is also held in high esteem since every living being has a proper place in it. Gender discrimination cannot be admitted either in the system of Law or according to our dharma.
Today many of the old customs have become obsolete throughout world. Even ‘the established truths’ of the physical sciences, for instance some of the concepts of Newtonian physics have turned out false. In this context some people call this age as one of post-realism. But for Bharat, the Land of the ultimate wisdom, there exists nothing like post-realism. For it this is the age of awakening of its traditional wisdom that supports life, culture and progress. The narratives of an age should not be left to immature minds to dictate. It should be determined by those who have judicious vision and synoptic insight. The Amrtotsav period of Bharat should be the initiation of an age of spiritual and moral wisdom and women have a major role to play in making it meaningful. https://organiser.org/2024/11/10/264539/bharat/mahila-samanvay-the-sangh-parivar-role-model-of-women-empowerment/

The baithak was also attended by RSS Sarsanghchalak Dr Mohan Bhagwat, Sarkaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale and all six Sah-Sarkaryavahs and other Akhil Bharatiya Karyakartas. Sarkaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale while addressing the media before the conclusion of Baithak said, “In the Akhil Bhartiya Karyakari Mandal Baithak, we reviewed the work done by the Sangh and its inspired organizations in their respective regions and discussed the upcoming plans. The review of RSS’s 100th-year expansion plan was also discussed.”
“In the Baithak, there was a discussion on the ‘Panch Parivartan’ programme for the benefit of society. This program includes five key points for social transformation: Samajik Samrasata (social harmony), Kutumb Prabodhan (family enlightenment), environment, the insistence on ‘Swa’ (self-reliance), and the duties of citizens. These practices should not only be followed by the swayamsevaks but also by their families, only then can we encourage others to follow them,” said Dattatreya Hosabale.
“This year, across the country, our Shakhas have increased and now we have 101,438 units. We have also discussed how development should not just be about quantity but quality as well”, he said. RSS Sarkaryavah also briefed about the help and relief services rendered by swaymsevaks during the disasters in the country.  He mentioned swyamsevaks performed different relief  and sewa activities like saving lives, providing food & shelter and rehabilitation during floods in the Tarkeshwar river of West Bengal; floods in Puri, Odisha; floods in Vadodara and currently during the ongoing Dhana cyclone.  He also shared services performed by RSS swayamsevaks after a landslide occurred in Wayanad, Kerala. He said that Sangh swayasmevak assisted everyone equally, Hindus and Muslims alike. When Muslim passed away during the landslide, the swayamsevaks conducted the last rites as per their religious beliefs. On the negative implication of OTT platforms on children he said, “There is a need for regulation from a legal perspective on the OTT platforms.”
In the context of Bangladesh atrocities on Hindus, he said, “The Government of Bharat has provided assistance to the minority community. The Sangh has also emphasised that the Hindu community there should remain there only. They should not migrate. There is a Shaktipeeth also and that region has made significant contributions to our history as a Hindu nation. We want Hindus to remain there, but their protection must be ensured. They have been suffering for 20 years, and the Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh is there to support them, and it will continue to do so.”
“If the Hindu community does not stay united, it will be divided. If we engage indiscrimination based on caste, language, and other divisions, we will get divided. Therefore, unity is necessary. The unity of the Hindus is for public welfare and will bring happiness to all,” said Hosabale. Hosabale also expressed Sangh’s views on Krishna Janmabhoomi case, love jihad and conversion.
Prior to ABKM, a press-meeting was also addressed by Akhil Bharatiya Prachar Pramukh Sunil Ambekar on October 23 at Mathura.

JAI SHRI RAM
---
WHY DID DR HEDGEWAR DECIDE TO START THE RASHTRIYA SWAYAMSEVAK SANGH?
Pankaj Jagannath Jayswal

For many people, especially Westerners, the glory of Bharat thousands of years ago is beyond comprehension.
The advancement of science and technology, nurturing and balancing of the environment, natural medical practises, leadership and management concepts, business practices and development, town planning, water management, strong social bonds, unimaginable temple architecture and skills, the exporting of many commodities, and the preservation of a great heritage. This, however, does not sit well with many Westerners, which is understandable given that every country wishes to be prosperous and ahead of other countries in terms of both social and economic development.

Why Bharat lost its Glory?
There are numerous reasons, but I will only mention a few. When we were at the pinnacle of glory and the world was looking to us for solutions on all fronts, we became complacent, believing that if we hadn’t done anything wrong to any nation, why would anyone harm us? This mindset has resulted in a loss of awareness and alertness to our adversaries’ intentions. Eventually, our society did not fully prepare to face enemies, even though they fought hard battles for a longer period of time and won many battles, but we lost many lives, looted, and culturally destroyed. When things are going well, it is natural to sit back and relax, which leads to a loss of awareness and alertness. Bharatiyas had developed a similar tendency, and a new philosophy emerged as everything was going well in harmony, and they believed that they did not need to prepare for any eventuality. There was no strong military base and no preparations for a war-like situation. People strangely believed that there was no threat because everything appeared to be perfect and that they did not need to make efforts for the security of society and nation.
Complacency led to destruction as nations dissatisfied with Bharat’s exponential growth devised systematic game plans and tactics to weaken us on multiple fronts. More than 200 times, Bharat had been attacked and looted, primarily by Mughals and Britishers.
The focus was on destroying the great culture, which was a strong force for the social, economic, and political development of Bharat at the time, and on making Bharat “Vishwa Guru.” Mughal invaders were the first to succeed, followed by Britishers. They were well aware that Bharat can only be ruled and exploited for long periods of time if the great Bharatiya culture is destroyed.
We follow the mantras “Ahimsa Paramo Dharma” and “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam,” which mean that we believe in nonviolence and consider the entire world to be our family. These intentions are worth imbibing in real life, but nonviolence is only possible when a person in society is developed physically, mentally, and with the goal of developing a strong and right national character. Even today, it is clear that Bharat has not attacked any country, captured their lands, exploited their natural resources, destroyed their religious sites, or converted to Hindu Dharma. Many countries that lack great culture, such as Sanatan Dharma, tend to become greedy and harm nations that are strong on social and economic fronts.
Our thinking about nonviolence went wrong, and even today, many people don’t understand it completely. When a country is strong militarily and society is strong mentally with a strong national character, enemies fear to do any misadventure, resulting in peace; otherwise, a country with a weak national character tends to become a slave nation as greedy enemies and nations ruthlessly take control of such nations.
Once, an army chief came to Bhagwan Gautam Buddha and asked him to make him a disciple because he had left everything to seek solace from Buddha. When Lord Buddha asked why he left everything, the chief of army said that a neighbouring state’s military was on its way to attack his state, and he didn’t want any bloodshed, so I decided to join you. Bhagwan Buddha responded, “What do you think, now the enemies will not attack, they will have more confidence and valor to destroy your state as your army’s confidence has gone down, there will be more bloodshed and exploitation?” It is worth to fight enemies; even if your life is lost in the war, you will achieve moksha(Liberation) in the end. The realisation of “Nation is supreme for every individual in society, and sacrificing one’s life for a national cause is the greatest service to oneself and the nation”. This intention and attitude will never bring the nation down, but will raise a loud voice to sing the nation’s glory.

Nonviolence does not imply being a slacker. Nonviolence is understood incorrectly if it is destroying the nation culturally, economically, and socially. A strong nation based on Sanatan culture will never attack another nation or culture, and thus establishing a strong society based on every Sanatan dharma concept, will eventually bring peace to society, nation, and the world.
Even internal India-breaking forces will be subdued if society develops a sense of national character. Only then will we be able to reclaim our glory and become “Vishwaguru.”
One more reason attributed to our suffering is, Westerners and mughals used caste-based divisional tactics to break society, one of which was the fake Aryan invasion theory. Though they created false theories, we as Indians were also to be blamed because we became entangled in a malicious intent and indulged in caste division. The caste system harmed our interests the most; we lost many lives in wars against enemies because we lost our unity. Religious conversions and cultural sites were extensively destroyed.
The most important factor is to bring social harmony, without which it is impossible to bring everyone together under the banner of Sanatan Dharma. We will have to fight together against the forces that are still attempting to divide society based on caste differences in order to convert them religiously.
Scientific and Technological advancements
It has been demonstrated that modern discoveries, inventions, theories, and concepts are largely based on Vedic knowledge/literature. Many scientists have studied Vedic literature in order to gain in-depth knowledge of scientific, spiritual, psychological, and behavioural knowledge.
The ancient Gurukul education system was revered throughout the world for its multi-dimensional, life and scientific management approach, as well as the various skills and knowledge imparted from childhood.
Developing leadership qualities, management principles and concepts, teamwork, problem-solving techniques with ease and calm mind, understanding mind and its complexity, sharpens intellect and memory, seeing and managing ego, spiritually and scientifically understanding soul, research and development, and environmental management were all part of our ancient Gurukul system, in addition to science, mathematics, social science, and grammar.
So, what went wrong for us to abandon our Vedic culture and Gurukul education system?
Takshshila and Nalanda universities were once considered the best in the world; however, our universities are no longer among the top 100 in the world. When we had gained a higher position globally, i.e. socially, economically, and spiritually, owing to our virtues, Vedic knowledge, complacency, and careless attitude cost us dearly, our enemies, first the Mughals, and then the Britishers, were plotting to destroy us. Mughals began to set narrative against our great culture in order to capture our territories, exploit economic resources and convert the people to Islam, and they were successful to some extent by creating caste schisms, coercion, and looting…
Later, when the British arrived, they realised that in order to maintain control for a longer period of time, they needed to destroy the culture and education system. They delegated this task to Max Muller and Thomas Macaulay, and it was carried out exactly as planned.
Max Muller, perhaps the most well-known early Indologist and Sanskritist, was the one who attempted to set narrative against the Vedas and great Indian culture, as the British government desired. He and other Indologists wanted to control and convert Vedic culture followers, so they widely spread the myth that the Vedas were simply mythology. They purposefully misinterpreted Sanskrit texts in order to portray the Vedas as primitive, and they systematically attempted to make Bharatiyas ashamed of their own culture. The Aryan invasion theory was one of these Indologists’ forgeries of history. Thus, the actions of these Indologists appear to be motivated by a racial race. Despite this, Max Muller later praised the Vedas. He admitted that his Vedic chronology was purely speculative, and in his final work, “The six systems of Indian Philosophy,” published shortly before his death, he wrote, “whatever the date of Vedic hymns, whether 1500 or 15000 B.C.E., they have their own unique place and stand by themselves in the literature of the world.”
Thomas Macaulay further harmed Sanatan sanskruti by instituting an English education system, which harmed the inner engineering of every Sanatani, which was the source of growth in all aspects of life, work, and nation.
It is time to reintroduce our own education system, which combines ancient and modern knowledge and techniques. Thomas Macaulay, who introduced English education in Bharat wanted to make the Bharatiyas into a race that was, Bharatiya in blood and colour, but English in taste, in opinion, in morals, and in intellect. Economically, our GDP was highest in the world, and exports were very high. Our natural resources, raw materials, minerals, knowledge, and technology were looted by Mughals and Britishers. Our economy was completely destroyed, and socio – economic problems arose. In addition, the British rule played a dirty trick by implementing the “Divide and Rule Policy.” Caste and religion were once used to divide the masses. Some of the negative consequences are still being felt.
Dr Keshav Baliram Hedgewar
When many freedom fighters from the village to the national level fought against British misrule. Shri Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, a freedom fighter who had faced difficulties in his personal life since childhood, had dedicated himself to the cause of the nation while also completing his education. He was imprisoned twice for opposing British rule and injustice. While working to free the country from the clutches of Britishers, he became aware of a few significant characteristics of the Bharatiya people as a whole.
He realised that the majority of people had forgotten the roots of great Bharatiya culture, developing a slave mentality and losing their fighting spirit. People have not been prepared to focus on developing national character. Society has been systematically rigged to fight primarily on the basis of caste, so that people never band together to fight British rule. The minds had been poisoned against the great Vedas, Upanishads, and culture. People had forgotten the great warriors of the past, such as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Maharana Pratap. They had forgotten the immense wisdom of the Bhagavad Gita and Chanakya Niti.
The most important realisation was “Shatrubodh,” people had lost the discriminatory power to know who is our friend and who is trying to destroy us. This has created a significant schism between the masses and the leaders. This has created more enemies within various groups, as well as unnecessary controversies. This has done significant damage to the fabric of society and harmed the Sanatan Dharma. Conversions to Islam and Christianity were multifaceted.
All of these realisations caused Dr. Hedgewar to reconsider his position. To make Bharat great again socially, economically, and spiritually, grass-root work with a multi-dimensional approach was required, so that it will make our nation so strong that no one will dare to invade this great nation again. I will skip over associations with the Congress and other organisations and instead focus on the formation of the “Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh” RSS.

The goals of RSS can be understood if we deeply understand a prayer.
1. Declaring our country a “Hindu Rashtra” does not imply forcing people of other faiths to leave the country. Hindu dharma or Sanatan Dharma believes in and works for the upliftment of all people without regard to caste, colour, creed, religion, region, language, or environment.
2. “Swa” based social and economical development
3. Bringing back the Gurukul education system with modern knowledge and removing Macaulay’s education system.
4. To eradicate untouchability and allow everyone to live as Hindus.
5. Teach everyone in society to develop a fighting spirit and to fight injustice and illegal practises.
6. Akhand Bharat.
7. Unity in diversity
8. Establish or develop sectorial organisations to advance in each sector and field.
9. Develop personal and national character
10. Make Bharat a “Vishwa Guru” nation.
!!Pranam to this great organisation!!
